Supporting reliable pharma distribution through EV innovation
Supporting reliable pharma distribution through EV innovation 21st May 2026

Transitioning to an EV fleet is an exciting step forward, but it comes with important infrastructure considerations.

From charging speeds to installation requirements, creating a reliable and efficient setup takes careful planning and investment.

At our 3PL distribution centre at Redhouse in Doncaster, we’ve invested in a new charging solution that has transformed how we operate to ensure we maintain a reliable fleet to support our dual-temperature controlled solutions for the safe transportation of pharmaceutical products:

✅ 3 × 180kW fast chargers (540kW total charging capacity).

✅ 1–2 hour charging times, including for HGVs.

✅ Electric vehicles on the road twice a day without the need for offsite charging.

Even better, the system is partly powered using our own on-site solar energy generated from a 1.6MWh PV array of roof panels.

The net result is reduced electricity consumption, lower CO2 emissions, and a more efficient, sustainable operation with lower long-term energy costs.

A huge thank you to Heatworks Ltd, City Electrical Factors, and intelligent Charging Systems (iCS) for delivering the project on time and within budget.
